Overall Odds of Winning Anything

The combined probability of winning any EuroMillions prize — from the jackpot down to the smallest tier — is approximately 1 in 13. This means that for every 13 lines played, on average, one will win a prize of some level.

However, the vast majority of those wins will be smaller fixed-tier prizes (Tier 12 and 13), not life-changing amounts.

What Affects Your Odds?

Nothing. Every possible combination of 5 main numbers (1–50) and 2 Lucky Stars (1–12) is equally likely. Whether you pick 1-2-3-4-5 or your birthday plus anniversary dates has no impact whatsoever on your probability of winning.

The only way to improve your odds of winning is to buy more lines — each line is an independent chance with the same probability. No number-picking strategy changes your odds.

Odds vs Probability

These two terms are often used interchangeably but have distinct meanings:

Both describe the same underlying math. "Odds" is generally the more intuitive way to think about lottery chances.
